Terms of sale
Version of 8 October 2026.
This page translates the seller's identity and articles 4, 8 and 9 of the terms of sale. The French text is the reference version and prevails in case of difference: read it in French.
1. Purpose and seller
These terms govern the purchase of GISFire Pro subscriptions and of data sold one purchase at a time (article 9), offered on gisfire.saro.app. The seller is Gistin, co-publisher of GISFire, based in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) and presented in the legal notice. Any purchase implies acceptance of these terms as in force on the day of the order. French law applies, without depriving a consumer of the mandatory protections of their country of residence. The public map stays free and outside these terms.
GISFire Pro is a single offer: €49.00 excluding VAT per month or €490.00 excluding VAT per year, with no free trial. Prices are shown excluding VAT, in euros; the VAT applicable in the buyer's country is calculated and added at payment.
4. Opening of the service
The subscription takes effect when the first instalment is paid, and the subscriber area opens at once. No free trial is offered: the monthly subscription carries no minimum term and can be cancelled at any time from the subscriber area, taking effect at the end of the period already paid. Subscriptions taken out before 6 October 2026 with a trial period keep it until it ends.
8. Consumers
A consumer who subscribes has a right of withdrawal of fourteen days from the subscription. If they ask for the service to start before the end of that period, they must consent to it expressly and, if they withdraw, owe only the price of the period already provided. A consumer, whether subscriber or data buyer, also benefits from the statutory guarantee of conformity that applies to digital content and digital services (articles L224-25-12 et seq. of the French Consumer Code), which these terms do not exclude. They may use a consumer mediator free of charge; the mediator chosen will be named before payments open.
9. One-off data purchases
GISFire also sells data archives one purchase at a time: those of a fire, or those of a geographic area over a chosen period. Each archive is a single order, with no subscription and no renewal. Articles 6 (limits of the service), 7 (personal data) and 10 (applicable law) of the French text apply to it.
Three prices, excluding VAT: one fire, €20.00; an area over 31 days at most, €50.00; an area over a season, 245 days at most, €150.00. These prices double when the order includes aircraft drops or flight tracks, data produced by GISFire: €40.00, €100.00 and €300.00. The price is shown before payment, for the datasets and the period chosen, and it is the price that is charged. A connected GISFire Pro subscriber downloads at no extra cost, within the limits of the subscription.
The applicable VAT is calculated at payment according to the buyer's country, by the payment provider, and added to the price. A business subject to VAT may enter its intra-Community VAT number at payment; if it is established in the European Union, it then accounts for the VAT itself. Payment is made by card, in advance, and an invoice is given to the buyer.
The archive is built after payment. It is delivered through a download link sent to the email address given at the order and shown on the order page, valid for thirty days. After that, the file is deleted and the link stops working: the buyer must have saved it before. The archive is a ZIP file that gathers the chosen datasets in the formats chosen by the buyer among GeoJSON, CSV, KML, Shapefile, GPX and XLSX (some formats do not suit every dataset, in which case GeoJSON is delivered instead), with a README file.
The data is digital content supplied immediately, with no physical medium. Before paying, a consumer buyer ticks a box by which they ask for the data to be supplied immediately and acknowledge that they lose their fourteen-day right of withdrawal, in accordance with article L221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code. Without that box, the order is not taken.
GISFire's products (groupings of detections into fires, progression outlines, severity, reprocessed detections) form a database produced by GISFire. Internal use and publication of results are permitted with the credit “Source: GISFire, gisfire.saro.app”. Reselling GISFire products is prohibited. Aircraft tracks and the drops deduced from them derive from adsb.lol data and are delivered under the ODbL 1.0 licence: the buyer may reuse and redistribute them under the terms of that licence, with the credit “Contient des données adsb.lol sous ODbL” and share-alike for any derived database made public. The price pays for the extraction, the formatting and the deduction of the drops, not for an exclusive licence on the positions. Other third-party data keeps its original licence, stated in the LISEZMOI.txt file.
Third-party data includes NASA detections (FIRMS), EUMETSAT lightning (Meteosat LI, CC BY 4.0), adsb.lol ADS-B positions (ODbL 1.0) and Copernicus Sentinel data modified for severity. The exact credits are in the LISEZMOI.txt file of the archive and must be reproduced when publishing. The data supports monitoring and is not an operational alerting system: drops are deduced from flight paths, and their position is reliable only to within a few hundred metres.
If the archive cannot be built, the order is refunded in full, tax included, to the payment method used. The buyer may also ask for it at contact@saro.app.
Nature of the data. The archives gather satellite detections published by third-party agencies and products computed by GISFire from public signals: water-bomber drops deduced from aircraft flight paths, groupings into fires, outlines, severity. This is indicative information, supplied as is, with no guarantee of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. It is neither an official record, nor a report, nor an expert opinion, and it does not replace the information of the competent authorities, prefectures and fire and rescue services.
Use and liability. The buyer alone is responsible for the use made of the data, for its interpretation and for the conclusions drawn from it, including in administrative or judicial proceedings, where it cannot be presented as a finding established by GISFire. The seller's liability for an archive is limited to the price paid for it and does not extend to indirect damage, except in cases of wilful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury and mandatory provisions protecting consumers. At the time of purchase, the buyer expressly acknowledges having taken note of the nature of the data and of these limits, and accepts these terms.
