Fires are counted on the archive: the very latest days consolidate over about forty-eight hours and may momentarily under-count ongoing fires. Drops and lightning come from the same sources as the map.

79 fires over the period, including 74 known only through the press. Satellite-measured fires total 8,069 hectares of detected footprint — it overstates the area actually burnt: a 375 m VIIRS pixel counts whole even when only an edge burns.

These figures come from satellite thermal detection and are not an official tally — only the authorities' statements are authoritative. A fire groups neighbouring, time-continuous detections; two successive fires at the same spot more than thirty days apart remain two distinct fires.
